About the Brand

N B C – The local media division of NBC is NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast that oversees their owned-and-operated television stations, Cozi TV network, LXTV and Skycastle Entertainment, its in-house marketing and promotion company.

Challenge

Prepare the brand’s local media site for the oncoming Olympic programming schedule. Ensure the site clearly communicates the best solutions for their potential advertisers.

Solution

Set the Olympic stage with dramatic photography, dynamic designs and energetic animation that will spark advertiser interest and increase sales.

  • Create a bold introduction through animation.

  • Use the Olympic colors to define categories for quicker recognition.

  • Make the site manageable with less pages and easy navigation.

  • Ensure continuity in print collateral for advertisers accessing information offline.

Result

Each Olympic program differs from previous in sales and budget but this one in particular had better results due to the prompt execution by the creative and development teams. Meeting the deadline for launch meant it would be ahead of schedule in comparison to past Olympic site launches that typically deployed late. This allowed for more sales time and better placements.

The homepage revealed photographs via a digital curtain.

 

All pages were designed to a strict grid, allowing for easy duplication throughout the site. Sections were clearly color coded to define the different categories.
